How this calculator works

Group cost per mile = tire count × (cost over one casing's life ÷ miles over one casing's life). Every tire on the truck turns every mile, so ten tires cost ten times what one tire costs per mile.

Cost over a casing's life = new tire price + mounting, balancing, and disposal, plus the price of each retread and its install, minus any casing credit you get at the end. Miles over a casing's life = miles from the new tread plus miles from each retread.

Total tire cost per mile is the steers, drives, and trailer added together. Multiply by your monthly miles for a monthly tire reserve. Set the trailer count to 0 if you pull someone else's trailer and don't pay for its tires.

Retreads are only offered for drive and trailer positions here. Use your own tread life numbers, from your tire records or by dividing miles run by tread depth used, since wear depends on your truck, alignment, loads, and routes. The prefilled prices and mileages are examples to show the math, not typical figures.
