About Haul Math

Haul Math builds free calculators and paperwork tools for owner-operators and small fleets. They cover the numbers you need before you take a load, when you invoice it, and at tax time.

Where the numbers come from

Every tax rate, fee, per diem rate, and rule on this site comes from an official source, such as the IRS, FMCSA, IFTA, Inc., the UCR Plan, state agencies, and the U.S. Energy Information Administration. Each tool links to its source and shows when it was last checked. The full list is on the sources page.

Why we show the math

Under every result you'll find the formula, your numbers plugged into it, and a plain-English explanation. That way you can check our work, or hand it to your tax pro.

What these tools are not

The results are estimates for planning. They aren't tax, legal, or compliance advice. Confirm with your tax pro or the agency before you file.
